Music Things

I have been in 6 bands, fronted 5, and played in 4 countries. Last year I performed in Finland and Germany with Mechanical Vein.

I started singing and dancing at 6; after school clubs and village hall events. I began violin lessons at 9 with my best friend and was in an orchestra and choir for 3 years. I got a keyboard for my 12th birthday and was obsessed with the soundbank of electronic noises. I bought a guitar at 15 thanks to the influence of the current friend circle and painstakingly learnt many Iron Maiden riffs without learning a single chord. I studied music for 6 years earning qualifications in Music, Music Theory, Music Technology, Sound Engineering and Music Production.

I worked as a sound engineer and roadie for a few years, which was mostly corporate events like employee awards ceremonies and paid my dues in a warehouse for a global audio-visual equipment rental company. I spent an entire summer PAT testing over 5000 items of electronics and cables and decided warehouse life wasn’t for me so my day job became running tattoo and piercing studios as a Body Modification artist for around 15 years which was a blast actually. I was still keeping a foot in the musical door in a local Leicester band playing electric violin for a few years around 2010 with my at-the-time husband who was the drummer.

So fast forward to the pandemic and I’m living in Spain and I’m back doing music things again; lots of covers and tributes, almost exclusively live performances for tourists. Lots of Indie rock and pop rock; Killers, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon – anything that began with a K really, maybe throw in some well-known bangers; Zombie, Living on a Prayer, Proud Mary, I love Rock and Roll, Back to Black, Jolene etc etc.

But life in post-pandemic Spain was looking bleak and I had to make a critical decision for stability and sanity and so I moved back to the UK to be with family mid 2022.

Now looking to assemble a covers band for good wholesome event fun in the UK – who’s in?
